WHEN COMMON SENSE BECOMES UNCOMMON

This post was sent out as a newsletter, the first to be sent out in the last 5 months. I don’t know where the time has gone. Plus, I broke my promise. I had promised in the last newsletter to send one out twice a month, and it never happened. There have been a lot of changes at the Triad of Health Family Wellness Clinic. Things may look the same, but they are completely different. There is a new copy machine, some new plants, new restrooms, and a new roof. We now carry an entire line of non-toxic skincare, body care, hair care, toothpaste, and sunscreen. We are constantly striving to help you, your friends, and the people of this and surrounding communities to be healthier. It has been difficult for me to see patients over the years who have been unknowingly poisoning themselves. This is why we now offer these personal care products in the office.

One of our most amazing developments is in the area of Energy Medicine. Previously, one of my mentors instructed me to study classical homeopathy and to purchase an entire pharmacy. While I hesitated at first, I finally decided to purchase the $8,000 kit. While it has not proved very profitable, it has helped my patients immensely. Some people had skin conditions vanish after one treatment. Urinary tract infections would magically disappear after a single treatment! People who had suffered from poor digestion were nearly completely better after being treated only once, with a second treatment sometimes being necessary. Several months ago, I was advised to get a kit that contains all of the known elements (except for those that are radioactive). This was also a considerable added expense. However, now 90% of patients no longer need any homeopathy at all, as this element kit addresses the underlying “causes” of the need for homeopathy. This saves each patient an average of about $40 to $50 per visit. The element kit addresses the energetic imbalances that homeopathy treats on a vibrational level.

Allow me to share the experience of one particular patient. She had not been sleeping for months. After just one treatment using the element kit and other total kinesiology therapies, she was able to sleep soundly through the night. She had been to numerous doctors who had tried various therapies to help her sleep. She had participated in several sleep studies and undergone numerous lab analyses, none of which had been very helpful. Ambien had probably been the most helpful, but it is toxic, causes damage to the brain, often throws off a person’s balance and equilibrium, and can cause foggy thinking—not exactly desirable side effects.

At Triad of Health, we are always on the cutting edge. The only real challenge is that so many healthcare providers are offering so many different treatments that people become confused. They don’t know where to turn. I have found that more than 50% of my patients actually choose their healthcare provider based on whether they like their mannerisms and personality, not based on their credentials, training, or clinical results. Perhaps this is why I discussed my training in the last newsletter 5 months ago. To summarize my training, let’s just say this: I have a lot of training—10 years more than the majority of medical doctors. The overwhelming majority of clinical approaches do not take into account the Triad of Health. This is why I keep emphasizing the importance of addressing the underlying causes of one’s health concerns structurally, chemically, and emotionally.

Let’s get back to this confusing healthcare situation. Take, for example, a man named Jim in his late 30s who is struggling with his health. Where should he go for help? What should Jim do? Let’s say he suffers from chronic fatigue and knows he’s tired all the time—he doesn’t need anyone to tell him that. What should he do next? Well, he could see a medical doctor, who would probably order blood tests to determine what’s going on. If the tests revealed low thyroid hormone or testosterone, they would prescribe thyroid medication or testosterone. The problem here is that thyroid hormones don’t travel in the blood; they travel in the lymphatic system. So, a blood test might not reveal a thyroid dysfunction, even if it’s severe. Much of the thyroid hormone is converted from inactive (bound and inactive) to active (free fraction, physiologically active) thyroid hormone in peripheral body tissues like muscles, ligaments, the liver, kidneys, and digestive tract. There’s no way to biopsy all these tissues to determine what’s happening with the thyroid, and even if it were possible, it would cost more than $10,000. I don’t think many people have that kind of extra cash lying around. So, perhaps the doctor would misdiagnose Jim because the thyroid issue doesn’t show up in the blood test, which could be a HUGE mistake. Keep in mind that the average M.D. simply doesn’t have the training to know that a blood test is ineffective for detecting thyroid dysfunction. This is NEVER how thyroid disease was diagnosed in the past. Feel free to read Hypothyroidism: The Unsuspected Illness by Dr. Broda Barnes. In the past, thyroid disease was diagnosed based on imbalances in lipid levels, such as excessively high cholesterol ratios and commonly high triglycerides. Total cholesterol might also be high. However, today they just screen to see if thyroid medication is needed. This is the main approach. And, when they see imbalances in the lipid panel, they say their patient has heart issues. Where do they come up with this stuff? All the research shows otherwise. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, for people aged 65 or older, the higher their cholesterol levels, the LESS likely they are to suffer from heart disease or any other illness, and the more likely they are to live longer. If you’d like to see the articles, let me know. I have them in the office. The public is incredibly misinformed and doesn’t know where to turn.

Perhaps I am TOO well-informed. Sometimes, I don’t know where to turn either. That’s why I’m turning to you in this newsletter. We need your help. Please spread the word. There is a better way. You can actually have the causes of your symptoms diagnosed and treated, and you can get better. There’s no need for stem cells or hormone injections. Most people don’t need medication, though some may for a period of time. Soy is not a health food. Organic whole wheat bread may not necessarily be as healthy as some think. Nobody needs “extra” fiber, so there’s no need to take oat fiber, flax seed, or buckwheat every day. These things may seem smart, and they’re discussed on the radio, TV, and internet, but they’re just gimmicks to sell products. Our ancestors didn’t eat flax seeds. Nobody has an acai juice deficiency—that’s ridiculous. These juices are loaded with sugar. Yes, they have tons of antioxidants, but these antioxidants are not as effective as the bilirubin that your body constantly processes and puts back into bile salts. Imagine taking pristine spring water from the top of one of the world’s most beautiful glaciers and then adding lead. Is it just as healthy once the lead is in there? Of course not. Similarly, the antioxidants in acai juice become biochemically worthless when combined with all that sugar. For really toxic people, they might feel better for a while, but it’s mostly their symptoms that are going away, not the cause. The symptoms may or may not return with a vengeance.

A thousand years ago, Hippocrates said: “The highest good is to find the cause [of the health concern].” Treating symptoms may bring about great results, but those results can’t compare to the long-term, permanent, deep healing that comes from addressing the underlying causes of symptoms through structural, chemical, emotional, electromagnetic, spiritual, mental, and physiological therapies. Diagnosis is key. A plumber cannot fix a leak until he/she finds where the leak is. Treating infection with painkillers is foolish—the infection itself must be addressed, or it could spread and lead to more problems. A car mechanic doesn’t just start replacing parts on a car that isn’t working properly. First, the mechanic performs diagnostic tests. Once they determine what’s wrong through analysis and diagnosis, THEN and only then do they replace the faulty part.

D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, once said, “Many patients imagine that they have tried everything. True, they have used many remedies, but they have never had the cause of their infirmity adjusted.” He also said, “There is a vast difference between treating effects and adjusting the cause.” Another quote from D.D. Palmer reads: “When educated intelligence can communicate with innate intelligence, a point at which the not-too-distant future may hold, then a correct diagnosis and treatment will be made and rendered.”

There’s a lot of misinformation out there. Getting the facts about our health and how to approach it is incredibly important. Many people like to discuss the benefits of being vegetarian. They argue that the fruits and vegetables they eat are loaded with nutrients. They’re correct—organic fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients IN A LAB. In other words, if you analyze fruits and vegetables in a lab, you’ll find high levels of nutrients. You’ll find huge amounts of a variety of important vitamins, minerals, amino acids, phytochemicals, enzymes, and coenzymes. However, when real humans eat these fruits and vegetables, they absorb only small amounts of these nutrients. So, they’re not getting the huge amounts shown in the lab analysis. The charts that show nutrient levels for different fruits and vegetables are inaccurate because they don’t account for how much of these nutrients are actually absorbed by real people. Nutrients aren’t absorbed in test tubes; they’re absorbed in digestive tracts. Certainly, fruits and vegetables are an important part of most healthy people’s diets, but they’re a bit overrated and misunderstood in terms of their role in human health and nutrition.
