Could your drinking habits be unknowingly endangering your health? Even if you are striving to maintain a healthy lifestyle, you may still be facing recurrent health issues that are related to alcohol consumption. This article investigates the hidden dangers of alcohol and its potential effects on your health. Consider discovering the true impacts of that seemingly harmless beverage and knowing exactly what steps to take to protect your health. Here’s what you’ll learn:
- Even little amounts of alcohol can have major consequences for your body, including liver damage and intestinal difficulties. Heavy metals can be detected in both red and white wine. Heart disease, cancer, and impaired cognitive ability have been linked to heavy metals.
- The unexpected ways alcohol can cause fatigue, mood changes, and a variety of other health problems.
- Efficient strategies for minimizing the negative effects of drinking and choosing better alternatives to improve your overall health.
Alcohol-related hazards
Although my father was health-conscious, he did not completely adhere to consuming organic foods. He frequently ate tofu burgers and drank beer or alcohol four to six days a week, believing that drinking alcohol on a daily basis could be beneficial based on some research. Nonetheless, the study is deceiving.
Alcohol immediately raises blood sugar levels and puts strain on the adrenal glands. Drinking alcohol more than three times a week can overtax your liver’s detoxification capacity. While red wine polyphenols can benefit heart health, the alcohol content can still cause difficulties. Many heart surgeons recommend limiting alcohol use.
Traditional Chinese medicine considers the heart and small intestine to be related meridians. The cardiac meridian is most active at 11 a.m. The small intestine meridian is active from 1 p.m. onwards to 3 p.m. This connection implies that any stress experienced by your intestines can affect your heart as well. Unlike traditional medicine, which often isolates biological functions, modern medicine, such as acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, acknowledges and values the interconnectedness of the body.
Trouble with alcoholic beverages:
- It affects brain cells.
- It slows reactions.
- It exerts strain on the adrenal glands, creating a variety of health issues, including fatigue.
- The alkalinity level is really high. Contrary to popular belief, cancer thrives in strongly alkaline environments rather than acidic ones. An imbalanced gut pH, whether too alkaline or too acidic, might promote the growth of candida, producing problems with sugar and complex carbohydrates in people with sensitive digestive systems or compromised immune systems.
- It is linked to liver disease.
- Too much alcohol can lead to emotional outbursts such as rage, irritation, and melancholy, making social interactions awkward. It can also impair judgment and lead to regrettable behaviors.
- Excessive alcohol use may result in encounters with “unwanted spirits,” which is why alcohol is often referred to as “spirits.”
In spite of being health-conscious, my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer before turning 65, lymphoma at 72, and a heart condition afterwards. He regularly consumed alcohol in moderation, staying active and sticking to a mostly healthy diet with few sweets. Although he maintained a healthy habit of eating fruits and exercising regularly, alcohol continued to play a significant role.
If you consume alcohol socially, it may create digestive or immune system difficulties. In my childhood, I used to drink excessively to dodge problems, which eventually led to memory loss.
The fundamental issue with alcohol is that, despite being slightly acidic, it causes excessive alkalinity in the digestive system. Alcoholic drinks, which are often manufactured from fruits or grains, can disrupt gut bacteria and increase candida. Strong alcoholic beverages, such as brandy or vodka, can kill microorganisms but may also impair intestinal health.
If you consume a few alcoholic drinks each week, have weakened immunity, or take regular medication, be mindful of how these factors impact your liver health. Liver spots, like those seen on some public figures, indicate liver stress from excessive toxins. This can affect anyone as they age.
You might wonder about my liver health. At 53, my liver is in good shape now, but it wasn’t always that way. I initially overestimated my health and struggled with underlying issues until I began studying with Dr. Bruce Shin and other healers, focusing on the root causes of my health problems.
