I never really know exactly what I am going to blog about until I start the blogging. When it comes to women’s health issues, there are a number of things that just keep coming up for my patients again and again and again and again and again.
Well over 70% of my new female patients are wearing bras just like these bras you see above here that do not support their health. There. I said it. I am done. Blog post over…… All kidding aside, what is it about these bras that cause so many difficulties? These types of bras have underwire in them and the metal wire interferes with the energetic flow of the Chinese Acupuncture Meridian System. As you might be able to see from the image here below, the Stomach, Spleen, Liver, Kidney, Central Vessel, Governing Vessel, Gallbladder, Bladder and other meridians travel right through the area of the bra. These types of bras constrict the muscles and bones in the area in which the bra is placed and actually cause the bones in the region to become misaligned and subluxated. These misalignments lead to difficulties with breathing, functioning of all of the organs listed, diaphragm dysfunction, difficulty with walking and nerve tracts going to and from the brain, reflexes such as the tonic labyrinthine reflex, etc….
A bra which supports a woman’s health should have the following basic components:
- It should NOT have an underwire.
- The person purchasing the bra should be properly measured / fitted prior to purchasing the bra. Different women need different sized bras.
- The bra should be worn on the Loosest fitting / clasp / setting.
- Ideally, you should have a properly trained health care provider check the bra to make sure that it is a supportive bra for you.
Much of this information about bras comes from the work of the late Dr. Victor Frank who began Total Body Modification which is now used world wide to support people with their health.
Many chronic patients fail to respond well to care simply because they are wearing a bra that does not support their health.
